The Scenarios circle identifies how the future-proofing-myself process will go. Divided into phases, each explains some of the techniques or directional thoughts that will lead me toward a desired goal.
Phase 1 is primarily about gaining a basic understanding. This is a way for me to become more well-rounded preemptively so that future issues can be combatted more efficiently. Basic knowledge is key, and further in-depth research comes in later phases as demanded.
Phase 2 is more involved. With more research needing to be done, phase 2 identifies the exact "actors" or events that are directly going to impact me. For me, these have been independent chatbots, politics, legal changes, and my personal ability. To be more specific, as the Supreme Court establishes more precedent, and as the government (hopefully) rolls out actual protections for data, my level of legal understanding will need to change accordingly.
Phase 3 is planning based on an understanding of trends and future changes, or "what must I do." Right now, that seems to be more networking, more research into the tech sector, and mitigating the potential to be "left behind" as both the legal and technological worlds continue to move forward.
Phases 4 and 5 function as the repeat stages. Really, if done well, stages 1-3 need not be repeated unless absolutely necessary. In the case of completely blind-siding technology developments, a redo of the entire scenarios chart may be in order, but otherwise, a reflective process of what I have learned and what I can do better helps to cycle information in a way that embeds the learning more solidly.
